For over twenty years Charles Sherman has been an active member of the Los Angeles art community. He has served on the board of the Graphic Arts Council at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and was president of the Los Angeles Chapter of Artists Equity Association fighting for artists' rights and equity in artist/dealer relationships.
Sherman's experience in the arts gives him unmatched expertise in the broad field of fine art. He has worked for galleries and numerous insurance companies as an art consultant. He is a fine art appraiser and a specialist in the history of twentieth century and old master artists. In addition, his research capabilities allow him to find information on many lesser-known and contemporary artists. He has a reputation as an art sleuth as he has uncovered art frauds and recovered stolen art.
He has given talks on art law to students at Pepperdine University and lectured on various topics from the business of art to the spiritual in art. Sherman worked for seven years on Rodeo Drive as a Senior Art Consultant and continues to be a private art dealer.
Charles Sherman is also an internationally known award-winning artist and has worked in the media of painting, printmaking and sculpture.
